Primos easy cam timetool6/24/2023 This type of a simple camera has been LONG Overdue, and I am happy that we I happen to be anĮlectronic Design Engineer, and I DESPISE the trend towards Over-Featurization. This is a brilliant solution to the "Technology Creep" of adding MORE AND MOREīells and Whistles to things that should have been kept simple. txt file titled TIMESYNCH onto the SD Card "TIME"YYYYMMDDHHMM (With no spaces or any other characters at all)Īnd store it in a. For instance, to set the time and date to 09:35 on the You can just type the data in yourself (I use a ChromeBook) using a simple Word Then reinserted into the camera and the pictures are then logged with the correct time andĭate. Onto the card for a WINDOWS computer to read to set the time and date. When the SD card is plugged in and the camera first turned on, an executable file is put It has a small, rugged case, robust battery box, and a simlple control switch (ON/OFF). (Far Infra Red) but this is a budget camera, and it fills that bill admirably. It would cost a bit more to use the longer wavelength IR LEDs, The LED "Flash" is Far Red, and somewhat visible. I have trespassing neighbors, not deer, so I am wanting some This one is much better than the lastįour that I have owned. Most other cameras get a good picture of your Butt as youĪre walking away, due to their slow trigger times. That being said, this is a solid camera, it functions perfectly well, and has a capture I'm guessing it will perform much better. I am looking forward to mounting it outdoors. I have tried the camera(s) indoor s so far, and the results have been washed outīadly when the subject was VERY close (at night). Without the software, you are stuck with a Low Resolution Camera. You a ONE Mega Pixel Image in the first place, and the camera is billed as a 5 MP unit. Like cleaning up an audio recording using a computer. It gives you a better quality camera through computer manipulation. Up edges by noticing that there is a line (of large "Native" pixels) of dots kind of in a row,Īnd decides that there is indeed an edge there. If you wish to Artificially "Clean Up" the photos, you must run them through a computerĪlgorythm that PREDICTS what a "finer grain" photograph would look like. PRIMOS headlines this camera as a 5 Mega Pixel unit. I'm probably gonna end buying several if the first one holds up to being left in the woods for a while. Basically this is a very simple, effective trail cam that only costs 30 bucks. I left it out on two rainy nights and several freezing ones and had no problems at all. I submerged t he camera in my kitchen sink for about fifteen minutes and had no leaks. It seems like a lot of fooling around, but it is very simple. You have to kind of guess when you will get to the spot where you want to hang the camera, and set it to that. You then stick the card in your laptop, and open the time control program to set the date and time on the card. This imprints a time control program on the card. To set the time/date, you have to stick the SD card in the camera, turn it on, then turn it off. Seems to be about a 20 second delay, and you can't change that. There are no internal settings that you can change, just an on/off switch. It picks up targets out to 40 feet and the pictures are good enough. The trigger speed is a bit slow so faster moving targets get a little blurred. It is a basic trail camera that takes pictures in daylight or dark. This is the only one that seemed to have that option. 4 Batteries have been running it fine since I have had it. And I only have to put in 4 AA batteries,(I h ave the option to put in 8 or 4 batteries). I wonder how they will hold up in very cold winter weather if I want to open the cam & remove the SD Card for viewing & then closing it up again. The only thing I wonder about are the snap latches that keep it closed. The pictures are fairly clear at 5MP & it even takes pictures at night. It's easy to view the pictures & delete or save the ones you want. Mostly I delete most of them, but in one picture I got a person's picture who the cops have been looking for a picture of. The only trouble is that most every vehicle that passes the house sets off the camera & I view the pictures on my computer. I live on a main road, so I use it to monitor who comes to the home as well as recording any animals in the cams view.
